Public Dashboard

Share server status with your community — no login required.

The Public Dashboard lets you share a read-only view of your game server's status with anyone, without requiring them to log in to COSY.

What Is It?

A Public Dashboard is a publicly accessible page that displays information about your game server. You decide what's shown — it can include metrics, logs, and freetext blocks.

Why Use It?

The most common use case is for gaming communities. If you run a Minecraft SMP (Survival Multiplayer), for example, you can share a Public Dashboard with your community so they can:

  • Check if the server is online before launching their game
  • See player counts and other live metrics
  • Read server information like the IP address, recommended mods, or rules — using the freetext feature

You share a single link and anyone with it can see the dashboard — no account needed.

Setting Up a Public Dashboard

  1. Open your server's Settings view
  2. Navigate to the Public Dashboard section
  3. Enable the Public Dashboard
  4. Configure which elements to display:
    • Metrics — CPU, memory, player count, or custom metrics
    • Logs — Live or recent log output
    • Freetext — Custom text blocks (e.g., connection info, rules, mod lists)
  5. Save the configuration

Example Setup: Minecraft SMP

A typical Public Dashboard for a Minecraft SMP might include:

ElementContent
FreetextServer IP: play.example.com, Minecraft version: 1.20.4, Recommended mods: list
MetricPlayer count (via custom metrics)
MetricServer uptime / TPS

Accessing a Public Dashboard

When a server has a Public Dashboard enabled, it becomes visible in two ways:

  • Direct link — The dashboard is accessible at http(s)://<cosy-url>/server/<server-uuid>. Share this URL with your community — in Discord, on your website, or wherever your players hang out.
  • Server Yard — The game server also appears on the COSY Server Yard for visitors who aren't logged in, allowing them to click through to the public dashboard.

Privacy notice: The Public Dashboard is accessible without authentication. Make sure you are not exposing any personal data or information that could violate privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR/DSGVO). Only display data that is intended to be public.
